      Cookie who played his Career as a striker, and played at the highest level in the Irish league with Bangor. Cookie also played up front at the 18th scoring quite a few goals, but breaking his leg ended his days of playing upfront. A great recovery give Cookie a new start as a goalkeeper, earning him the name "Mad Monk" out of Mean Machine.

18th N'Abbey Clarkey is now into his 17th year with club, although he had to take a few years out of playing with a broken leg. He battled back to full fitness and is currently Captain of the 2nd team and in the heart of the defense. At 35 "The General" thrives at least 1 trophy before he even considers to hang the boots up. Clarkey picked up last seasons Player of the year.

      Shifty after taking a season out, is back in the heart of the 18th defense. A tall center half who wins headers and brings experience to the side with his ability to run the ball out of the defense, also a great tackler .

Kristian has had good experience throughout the amateur league, and is now settled after his 3rd season back in Monkstown. A superb passer of the ball and real tough tackler, back in his strongest position at right back but can also play anywhere in the defense or midfield
Jimmy Finlay       A veteran in the 18th's 1st team who has came in the last 2 seasons to help the 2nd team out in the 2nd half of the season, but this year he has opted to play from the start of the season. Jimmy a level headed defender who's experience is 2nd to none, and is a great attacking full back.

Reliable at the back and comfortable anywhere along the back or in centre of midfield Man of the match at last years triumphant Cochrane and Corry cup final certifies what a great player this lad is.

Shorts Tick last season was players/managers player of the year with some solid performances at the back. Tick was captain last year and alway lead by example, and scored a few important goals on the way, but a hernia operation at the start of this campaign is sure to keep him out for this sesaon.

Left Back   Trevor is an outstanding wing back and has earned the name "Mr consistent" Trevor has lifted the clubs Players player of the year for the 3rd year running.

      A long serving member of the 18th , 'Simone' Is one of the most skilful players in the team and undoubtedly could have played at a higher level but remained loyal to the club. He as an eye for the killer pass and nearly as many tricks as Ronaldo (the skinner one)

Left Midfield 18th N'Abbey Entering his second season now at the 18th, Jackie plays a vital role for the 18th, with the most underrated left peg in the club.  Jackie managed 4 goals in half a season when he joined late last year, and opened this season with a rasping 25 yard top corner effort.

      No nonsense midfielder (fitting in recently at full back) who will do whatever it takes to take the pressure off the back four.  Very quick pace and a good striker of the ball, wih either foot.

First season at the club for the teenager. One of the quickest players in the club with lightning pace that can be utilised on either wing. Also packs a rocket of a right foot and has helped the 1sts to many important wins.  Definitely one for the future.
Addie McFaul     Greenisland OB Addie is great addition to 18th this season. A great passer of the ball, and likes the odd strike at goal, very strong in the tackle, and a good winner in the air.

Nixon is a talented playmaker and battles for everything in the heart of the 2nd's midfield. Nixon is now entering his 3rd season at the 18th, just hope he can capture the super form of his 1st season and make him that feared midfielder.
Robert Peachey       Peachey is another loyal servant to the club and has been around from his youth. Peachey is always giving 100% battling away, Peachy has demonstrated his equal ability to slot in at left back or left midfield. He can play almost anywhere, just hope that he can get a settled position this season to get the absolute best out of him.ll.

Midfield Abbeystar Boys Goose started off playing for 18th newtownabbey in 1995-96 - he took a year out last season and is back playing in the 1st team after being badly missed. Goose scored the 1st ever competitive goal at our new pitch in Cloyne Crescent, which was a 20 yarder against Drumbo. In his youth he was a great goal scorer for Abbeystar Boys club.  Goose went onto have trials at many English clubs, with Arsenal being the biggest.

13th N'Abbey Having enjoyed success at local rivlals, winning both the 4th Division OB League and Bunting Cup, Swainer moved on to 18th to ply his trade in the Amateur League.  While medals have not exactly been flying in, Swainer has definitely proved time and time again his exceptional ability.  Whether plying his trade in midfield or up front, with the 1sts or with the 2nds, he's always in search of the ball and cn bang a goal in from near and far....not forgetting he's one of the best headers of the ball at the club.

Left Midfield 12th N'Abbey A hard working midfielder who can play on either wing. Quick off the mark and chips in with the odd important goal now and again. Was getting a good long awaited run in the first team this season until an unfortunate ankle injury has ruled him out for the last month or so.

Centre Forward 18th N'Abbey Smurd joined the club when he was 15, and is currently one of the longest serving players at the club. He has been top goalscorer on a few occassions. last season he scored 25 goals, earning a 1st team call up and he scored in both starts. Smurd earned himself 2 club trophys, Top scorer and Players player of the year. But it major honours the veteran striker is after.

      A young player who has grown up fast playing for the 18th Newtownabbey first team. Confidence & Ability are just two of his fortitudes that are impressing the managers; he's got the legs and the pace to outrun any defence, and can strike a ball with excellence.

Brian had a spell in the Irish league with Ballyclare, and recently with Hollywood FC in 1A, scoring 20 odd goals to help them into the top flight of amateur football. But Brian who has played at 18th for many years and represented 18th in the Amateur league select 2 seasons ago. He is currently the record scorer with 44 goals in one season and is back hopefully shoot 18th back into 2A.

      This young lad came to training at the start of the season, and impressed the whole 3 teams and managers immediately, Although the youngest player at the club, he is definitely one of the ones to look out for in the future - quick feet , super pace, and with skill to match any senior player. Always gives 100% with enthusiasm, and has a good eye for goal.

An unexpected signing for 18th last season, but it was definitely our gain when he did. Monty's played for a few other clubs previously - the experience tells as he holds the ball up very well, wins loads of flick-on's and is a great supplier of goals. Not to mention bagging a few peach goals himself

      Andy cleaned up at the prize giving last year for the 3rds; a tall centre forward who scoring goals from anywhere. Has been used more frequently as a stalwart midfielder, giving his all for yet another season at the 18th.

Marky is a big fit lad with pace that would trouble even the best of defenders. His hunger for goals made him the clubs top marksman last season with 27 goals, Marky has pledged loyalty and signed for a 2nd season running and hopes his goals will fire 18th back into 2A.
